Ministry of Education – GOMBE State Nigeria
Project: Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) SDG 4 ;Quality Education
Assignment: BESDA is an education intervention program for out- of school children and youth. based in Gombe state, Nigeria and is funded by the world bank. The core purpose of the project is to reduce illiteracy levels, develop skills and capacity in order to contribute meaningfully towards societal development.
Our team of experts were engaged to build capacity of the Gombe state ministers and BESA administrative team on designing sustainability strategies that would ensure the programs longevity and sustainability post World Bank funding.
MANRIK Holdings – Kenya
Project: Sustainability Strategy Integration
Assignment: Manrik Group of Companies is a private owned conglomerate pioneering in property development , Hospitality, Tourism and Floriculture.
Our key priorities for this engagement with Manrik’s C-suite Leadership team was to Appraise Manrik Holdings’ Vision, Mission and Values, Conduct a materiality assessment to identify the issues that matter most to Manrik Holding and its stakeholders, Embed the elements which informs the sustainability integration plan , Propose approaches for effective implementation of the Sustainable strategy and finally, identifying measurable benefits alongside long-term risks and opportunities to ensure that the proposed sustainability integration strategy is resilient, and creates real value for Manrik Holdings, and its stakeholders.
Kenya School of Law
Project: Law and Sustainable Development
Assignment: Law and sustainable development are interconnected fields that address the intersection of legal frameworks, governance, and policies with the goal of promoting sustainable and equitable socio-economic development while preserving environmental integrity.
Kenya School of Law, a public legal education provider responsible for the provision of legal training, paralegal training, continuing professional development, projects and consultancies engaged the consultant to facilitate a five day training reviewing the role of law in sustainable development, examining challenges with International and national law that will need to be faced in moving toward sustainable development addressing the implementation of sustainable development law.
COPIA – Kenya
Project: Sexual Harassment and Bullying ; SGD 5 (Gender Equality)
Assignment: COPIA, with a workforce primarily consisting of entry-level employees, recognizes the importance of providing comprehensive training on Sexual Harassment and Bullying to create a safe and inclusive workplace environment.
 This initiative was driven by the need to ensure compliance with updated policies and to meet international ESG standards, showcasing their commitment to responsible business practices. Sexual Harassment and bullying is a human rights violation that intersects with a number of SDGs, including SDG 5 (gender equality), SDG 8 (decent work) and SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions). Sustainability Africa conducted a comprehensive sexual harassment and bullying training for a total of 1, 278 employees across 12 counties i.e. Nairobi – Tatu City, Naivasha, Nakuru, Eldoret, Machakos, Karatina, Muranga, Kisii, Kisumu, Kericho, Meru, Embu.
Dar Es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (DART) Tanzania
Project: Sustainability and Urban Public Transport – Project Sustainability and Financing Options
Assignment: DART project development purpose is to support Tanzania’s economic growth by providing enhanced transport facilities that are reliable and cost effective, with a view to improve urban mobility that would impact positively on the informal and formal businesses by providing them with improved accessibility and enhanced roadside.
In order to ensure sustainability of the project, we engaged the DART core team to identify project opportunities and financing options that would ensure sustainability post donor funding to effectively address challenges, adapt to changing circumstances, and continue to deliver positive outcomes for the environment, society, and the economy.
British American Tobacco Kenya (BATK
Project: Women Empowerment Program (WEP)
Assignment: BATK has identified Women’s Empowerment as a key pillar of the farmer livelihood improvement program. Sustainability Africa team of consultants were tasked in the delivery of this program whose objective is to sustainably improve and support 2500 women in the company’s farmer value chains to grow and prosper through the provision of tailored capacity enhancement interventions and mentorship support.
It is expected that the programme will fuel the success of the participants and enable them to realize improved livelihoods through increased access to jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities among other social benefits
